Mr. Fugly’s Saxophone JourneyMusic has always been a core part of Mr. Fugly's soul and spirit. As far back as he can remember, even as a little boy, he said he would always dance like nobody was watching while everybody was watching, and didn't care because the music moved him that much. It was in the 6th grade, in Middle School, when he first started taking music lessons and chose the saxophone to play. He was always the unpopular kid and considered ugly so he thought the saxophone would help him "get a girlfriend". He said it didn't work and he had a fairly lonely childhood, so the saxophone was very fulfilling at the time to stay occupied with. He ended up taking 6 years of music lessons throughout middle school and high school. After high school ended, life and work started taking priority over playing the saxophone and it got away from him for several decades. Fast forward 35 years, he now works for himself as a private contractor, and sometimes has a few long days between clients and jobs. He started thinking about ways to fill his spare time that could be fun and productive without wasting the time away with frivolous, non-productive time killers. Looking back on his childhood, he always thought about how one of the things he missed the most was playing the saxophone. He decided to do an eBay search and he saw a red beginner model alto saxophone for a very affordable price, so he went for it. He named her Ruby, because she is Ruby Red, saying that "every musician names their instrument, right?". He was very nervous at first, thinking it might be a wasted investment and wouldn't know how to play anymore after so many decades. Boy, he was wrong about that. He says the memory reflex is still there and still knows how to read the notes on sheet music, so it was almost like riding a bicycle, but with a little bit more difficult "relearning" curve to get the memory reflex back. Asked why he waited 35 years, he says, "I don't know, but everything happens for a reason at the time that it happens, and I feel so Blessed with the connections made through music already, and how some of the songs I have played have touched different people deeply in different ways, and I never know which song it might be; that's part of the joy of connections through the music."He is also a singer and songwriter in his own right, and currently has approximately 70 songs published under his digital studio music logo of "TuckerTunes", on Youtube, Pandora, iTunes, Amazon Music, and they are also for sale individually for personal or commercial use, for $1.00 to $2.00 each, at his "TuckerTunes" web store. "Between all of this", he says, "running a successful business with three trucks, writing lyrics, composing beautiful love songs and playing the saxophone, believe it or not, my fugly mug is STILL single." This interviewer says, "Be on the lookout, ladies, he really isn't half bad...in appearance, laid back demeanor AND playstyle."
